The A1 Hillsborough / Ravernet / Blaris Road Junction, Lisburn, is being upgraded.
Roads Service has been working over the past number of weeks to upgrade the traffic signals, footways and carriageway surface at the above locations.
The work is nearing completion and final strengthening and resurfacing of the carriageway is planned for Sunday 6 and Sunday 13 November 2011.
In order to minimise inconvenience and disruption to the travelling public, commercial traffic, local residents and businesses, Roads Service plan to undertake this work overnight during the next two weekends.
This work has been planned to avoid the busiest traffic periods. Roads Service apologies for the inconvenience and disruption which will occur on this heavily trafficked route during the works, and would appreciate the patience and co-operation of road users while the road improvements are being carried out.
Roads Service would encourage all traffic that can legally use the nearby M1 Motorway to do so. Traffic heading to Lisburn from the south can use the M1 from Sprucefield to Junction 6 Saintfield Road thus bypassing the works. Similarly traffic going to Sprucefield from Lisburn City Centre can bypass the works by joining the M1 at Saintfield Road and exiting at Sprucefield.
