A Northern Ireland-based contractor has bagged work on a £10m mechanical and electrical maintenance project.

BI Electrical Services (NI) Ltd will complete a catalogue of work on schools and associated facilities across the country.

Main construction work will include examination and testing of lifting devices, pressure systems, local exhaust ventilation and rotating equipment and periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations.


Meanwhile the company will carry out servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems, CCTV door access and intruder alarms as well as boiler servicing and maintenance.

Installation work will include boiler controls, BMS systems as well as gas and electrical catering equipment.

According to www.unearthore.com the works will be carried out in schools and associated facilities which will generally be required to remain operational throughout.

The form of contract will be the NEC3 Term Service Short Contract September 2008 - priced contract with price list.

Main construction work is expected to commence on site during early October, 2011 and the contract period is estimated at 12 months. The cost of the scheme is in the region of £10 million.
