"When completed, the scheme will result in a more efficient, safe, attractive and reliable route for traffic using the A32. It will be of particular benefit to emergency vehicles and other traffic movements associated with the South West Acute Hospital which is currently under construction," said the Minister.

A £1million completion contract has been awarded to Omagh based Fox Contracts. Advance site clearance and earthworks have already been undertaken in 2010 and 2011.

The total cost of the Drumskinney project, including the advance works and lands costs is estimated at £1.8million.

It is understood that the project will be completed by March 2012.

The A32 Drumskinny Improvement Scheme is situated approx 1 km south west of Dromore village between Dromore and Irvinestown outside Enniskillen.
