GAA Scores Dungiven Boost

Gaelic sports are in for a boost in Co Londonderry with news that the main construction work is already progressing on site for a 10-month contract valued in the region of £2m to build a new supporters' stand.

The mechanical and electrical sub-contractors have now been appointed for the construction of the new stand and clubhouse at the Owenbeg Centre of Excellence in Dungiven.

Derry GAA County Board is behind the development that will comprise the construction of the stand - seating over 2,000 fans - along with an associated clubhouse.

In addition the scheme will see the construction of a new supporters store, additional training pitches, including dugouts, the installation of new floodlighting and the upgrade of existing floodlighting.

Associated landscaping will be carried out and car-parking facilities provided.

The architect is PDM Architects, the electrical subcontractor, P McColgan & Sons Ltd and the mechanical subcontractor, PJ Mullan Plumbing.

The main contractor is Corramore Construction.
