Cork Marina Plan Floated

A major 123-berth marina is to be built in Cork.

Detailed plans were approved by Cork County Council to promoter, Michael O'Riordan for the construction of a marina at Garranekinnefeake, East Ferry, Cork.

According to the website www.unearthore.com the development will also comprise the construction of a two-storey marina building incorporating services facilities, chandlery facility, café restaurant and ancillary areas, drying rooms, showers, marina management office, toilets and caretakers accommodation.

Plans include the provision of car parking spaces, information/notice boards, viewing platform and public amenity walkway, rock armour protection, diesel and petrol refuelling facilities, foul water pump out facilities, waste deposit facilities and associated infrastructure, reclamation of foreshore to provide for the above, and associated siteworks to include landscaping, underground bunded fuel tanks and associated vents and ancillary siteworks.

The architect is Cunnane Stratton Reynolds and the consulting engineer is Cronin Millar Consulting.
