"Swan Leisure is a wonderful addition Rathmines and surrounding areas. The leisure centre opened to the public in early September and is already proving very popular with schools, community groups and individuals. This marks the successful completion of the redevelopment of the old City Council swimming pool site. This facility we have here is a credit to the hard work, vision and cooperation between Dublin City Council, local elected representatives and the local community," Lord Mayor Breen commented.

Donnelly Turpin architects designed the Rathmines Square development which includes Swan Leisure and it was constructed by John Paul Construction.
The leisure facilities include:
- A 25 x 12.5 metre swimming pool. The pool's water depth can be altered and the pool can be sub-divided into different sections to cater for different needs
- Changing facilities include group and family changing rooms and changing facilities for people with disabilities
- Full range of sports facilities including gymnasium, aerobic studios, sports hall and sauna room
