The NFB's Chairman John Robinson, together with Julia Evans, NFB Chief Executive and the past, and in-coming national chairs and the Finance Group Chair spent two days in Dublin to have meetings with the Irish Construction Industry Federation (CIF) as well as the British Ambassador to Ireland, Julian King, and the Irish Minister for Housing & Local Services, Michael Finneran.

The purpose of the trip was to explore the possibility of partnering with other trade federations and to understand the mutual benefits of doing so. Meetings with the CIF highlighted the common interests of the two federations, particularly in the field of procurement and consortia working.
The meetings also focused on work opportunities in the Ireland for UK construction companies and vice versa.
John Robinson, NFB Chairman commented: "One of the NFB board's key objectives over the last couple of years has been the making of strategic links with other trade federations interested in the key policy issues we think important.
"Our latest visit to the Construction Industry Federation of Ireland was very successful and cements a warm professional involvement with colleagues in the Irish Republic," he said, noting that both organisations will be taking a number of issues forward together in the near future.
