PM Group Rewarded For Indian Charity

A firm that specialises in the delivery of highly complex engineering, architecture and project management projects, the PM Group, has won a special award for its work to help disadvantaged communities in India.

The award was presented by Irish charity Gorta at a World Food Day conference attended by the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.

"Through this centre children and young adults from the poorest sections of the community will be able to have access to therapy, training and education enhancing their chances of a prosperous future," he said.

PM Group Chief Executive, Pat McGrath, described the award as a great honour and encouraged other Irish businesses to think in global terms in their Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.

He said: "We are very proud to be an Irish based company providing our expertise around the world. Irish businesses have a key role to play in how we tackle world poverty and hunger and I would encourage other companies to also look for opportunities where business can play a role in supporting overseas aid and development."

Founded in 1973, PM Group employs a further 800 people across a network of 21 offices worldwide.

The company also engineers and builds vaccine facilities and has interests in the life sciences sector, especially biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical technology, food and nutrition.
