Whitemountain Quarries Secures Contract

One of Ireland's leading quarrying companies, Whitemountain Quarries, has signed a five year aggregate supply agreement with Eurovia, a European leader in the construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure.

The deal will see Whitemountain Quarries provide Gritstone from its Ballystockart Quarry on the outskirts of Comber in Co Down used in asphalt production for the development and maintenance of roads across the South East of England.


The Ballystockart site has recently received planning permission to extend the quarry, which will help ensure the supply of aggregate for this contract.

Announcing the deal, Whitemountain Quarries' Managing Director Mark Kelly, said: "This Supply Agreement will help to ensure the long-term sustainability of the site, as well as opening up new channels for business and demonstrates that our product has the seal of approval from one of Europe's foremost road building companies. We view it as a positive sign for Northern Ireland's construction materials industry.

"The Ballystockart aggregate will be shipped from Whitemountain Quarries' dedicated quay at Belfast Harbour to production plants in London, East Anglia and Humberside. We are delighted to formally extend our working relationship with Eurovia who are involved in many major infrastructure projects in England."
