Northern Ireland's expertise is on show at a major technology exhibition in Germany this week.
Four companies are exhibiting and a further group will be visiting the Husum WindEnergy Exhibition, from 21-25 September, with assistance from Invest NI.
The event, held at Husum, near Hamburg, is the world's most important event for the wind energy sector and is expected to attract over 30,000 visitors from companies, organisations and institutions involved in this technology. Around 1,000 companies are listed as exhibitors at Husum WindEnergy.
Besides technical innovations, Husum WindEnergy also covers turbine technology, the re-engineering and expansion of powergrids and supply chains to accommodate offshore and onshore wind power.
All the major manufacturers in wind technology will be taking part and demonstrating the latest advanced systems. New manufacturers, for example, from South Korea and the US, will be showing at Husum for the first time.
Tracy Meharg, Invest NI’s Managing Director of Innovation and Capability Development, commenting on the exhibition, said: "Our participation at Husum is a further demonstration of our strategic focus on encouraging and assisting the growth of renewable energy technologies, including wind energy, in Northern Ireland.
"Over the past year we have assisted a number of local companies to participate in a series of major events, including All Energy in Aberdeen, which have enabled them to showcase their expertise and products and also to gain essential knowledge of and information about developments and trends within this important industry.
"Husum WindEnergy is a unique event that will enable our companies to network with global industry leaders and keep abreast of technological developments and trends. It is essential that local companies wishing to develop business make contact with industry innovators."
In addition to Husum WindEnergy, Invest NI will be assisting local companies to take part in a programme of renewable energy events including Now Ireland's Irish Offshore Wind Energy exhibition in Dublin next month and the RenewableUK Annual Exhibition and Conference in Glasgow, 2-4 November.
