Tenders are now being sought by the YMCA for the construction of a new premises in the seaside town of Carrickfergus.
The new building will be in Irish Quarter West and will include a single-storey general activities hall and two ground floor shop units as part of a three-storey elevation.
Total overall floor area measures 999 square metres. Production uses will account 500.83 sq.m; sales uses will measure 71.8 sq.m; offices uses will equal 45.87 sq.m; storage uses will measure 166 sq.m and ancillary uses equal 214.5 sq.m.
The contract will comprise the demolition of a two-storey building and the construction of a three-storey steel-framed building to house a new YMCA Centre at 30/34 Irish Quarter West, Carrickfergus.
The contract period is anticipated to be 12 months commencing in November 2010.
Applicants wishing to be considered for the list should apply in writing to the address below for a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) clearly quoting the reference 'YMCA Carrickfergus' and they must provide their email address to facilitate communication.
All contractors will be registered with Constructionline (or an equivalent certifying body) and confirm their unique Tax Payee Reference under the HMRC New Construction Industry Scheme.
They will also have in place a documented Health and Safety management system accredited by a competent third party such as Buildsafe NI.
Contractors must have had a minimum annual turnover of £3 million in each of the last 3 years.
Completed PQQs must be delivered no later than 5.00pm on Friday 10th September 2010 to Carrickfergus YMCA Board of Directors c/o Dunlop Hawthorne Partnership Grove House, 12 North Road, Carrickfergus, BT38 8LR.
