To celebrate the launch of its business landline and fixed broadband offering, telecommunications giant O2 has launched a €50,000 competition for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Ireland.
To enter, all an SME has to do is submit a short sales pitch either by email, text or Twitter – no more than 140 characters - on why their company deserves the prize. The competition is being run in association with The Star newspaper.
The winning SME will receive €50,000 worth of marketing and communications business services including over €20,000 of advertising space and €6,000 worth of O2 office landline, fixed broadband and mobile services. In addition, the SME will receive €19,000 worth of digital, PR, online and advertising creative services from Ireland’s top communications agencies.
"We have put together a prize that combines the best thinking in current marketing practice and some nice rewards that will help any SME grow its business," said Jonnie Cahill, Head of Communications & Sponsorship, Telefónica O2 Ireland.
"As well as advertising, the package includes helping the SME develop its online presence through digital marketing and PR from some of the most creative agencies in Ireland."
He continued: "We know that business people are busy so we have made it as simple as possible for them to enter. All they have to do is submit a 140-character sales pitch by email, text or Twitter on why their company deserves to win."
The deadline for entries is 9th July. A shortlist of the best six entries will be posted on the O2 ideas room blog (www.o2.ie/ideasroom) where the public can then vote on the winning pitch.
The competition is open to Irish companies that have been in business for a minimum of 12 months.
