Revised plans for a housing and retail project in Armagh City have been submitted to planners - with numerous new jobs on the way if the bid is successful.
DoE Planning Service has now re-advertised the comprehensive redevelopment of Ogle Street in Armagh.
The project - which will include shops and a substantial residential element - is by Clanrye Developments Ltd, of Rostrevor who had submitted the original plans - drawn up by Armagh-based DA Architects - back in June 2008.
It is understood that proposals for the frontage on to Ogle Street remain the same, but there are changes to the rear of the site.
Instead of a development of 70 apartments, it was now hoped to construct a total of 66 residential units.
The project has the full backing of Armagh City and District Council, which had written a letter of support to accompany the original application back in 2008.
The development would create numerous jobs through both construction and, upon completion, shop trading.
The mixed-use development would see 13 retail units being created to the front ground floor level of Ogle Street, with apartments and residential accommodation overhead.
Further residential units will be created at the rear of the street, stretching out 'like fingers' at right angles.
There will also be 'surface' car parking, but the majority of spaces will be located in a new underground car park.
The footpath at the front of Ogle Street has already been widened - as part of the city centre environmental improvements plan - and this will provide level access to the shops.
In addition, access to the residential units and parking at the rear will be from Ogle Street.
