Naas Shop Scheme Approved

Planning permission has been granted for a new two-storey shop unit and office facility in Naas, Co Kildare.

The development will be built of the site of a former workshop and garage owned by Pat and Sean McCormack, on Downings North, in Prosperous.

The existing McCormacks Garage will be demolished to make way for the new scheme.

Planners at Kildare County Council approved plans to construct a two-storey building to include two shops with offices over; workshop to rear; car-sales showroom; new petrol pumps with canopy over; underground tanks; car wash and services area; binstorage area; car sales display area; car parking; and new entrances.


The permission is subject to 51 conditions.

Meanwhile, the County Council has refused an application by Streamstown Developments Ltd for permission to construct a major residential development in Moyvalley, Broadford.

The failed plans had included 20 dwellings, four two-storey retail units, a creche facility, five sites for houses and an effluent treatment system.

Council planners gave nine reasons for refusal.
