Cavity Wall Insulation
Cavity Wall Insulation (CWI) is an Insulation solution for existing block Cavity Wall built houses where an empty/partially filled Cavity is present. The empty Cavity is filled with expanded polystyrene beads (EPS) which are injected alongside a controlled ratio of a water based adhesive to bind the beads as a solid insulant in your Cavity Wall. The EPS beads are spherical in shape with diameters varying between 2 mm to 8 mm, this ensures free flowing bead movement inside the Cavity for a full fill without any gaps or waste.
Most homes constructed in Ireland since 1930 are built using two layers of block, an inner load bearing wall and an outer leaf of rendered block. The “Cavity” is the gap between the two layers of block, this is how this type of external wall construction got its name “Cavity Wall”. The Cavity typically varies from 50mm to 110mm and may be empty or partially filled with Insulation, depending on the building specification at the time of construction.
Attic Insulation
An Attic Insulation upgrade is one of the most affordable and effective solution a homeowner can implement to reduce heat loss in their home. The SEAI calculates a home can lose between 20-30% of heat through its roof if not properly insulated. An attic insulation upgrade generally involves adding a second layer of rolled insulation, to bring the total insulation thickness from 100mm to 300mm.
The installation generally takes a few hours to complete and as the work is located in the attic, it is not intrusive to the occupants of the home. As we are increasing the insulation thickness in your attic, this may warrant additional ventilation or raising of storage flooring in your attic space, to optimise your insulation effectiveness and comply with SEAI standards. Our surveyor will complete this assessment free of charge and we can include any additional works as part of the Grant Scheme.

Attic Flooring
We can safely and securely install 18mm Oriented Strand Board (O.S.B) Attic flooring for you at a low cost, to maximize your homes storage capacity. We will advise on how much space is available to you and identify areas in your Attic that may be suitable for shelving for even more storage space. To keep your Attic insulation working effectively and per regulations, we will raise any existing and new flooring to a suitable height using counter batten timbers. Your new Attic flooring will be screwed down which can then be easily lifted in the event of an emergency.
When installing Attic Insulation, it’s a requirement to have floored access to the water tanks and any other services equipment which may be located in your attic. We will include this attic flooring installation as part of all Attic Insulation upgrades.
Attic Ladder
An Attic Ladder will allow you safe and secure accessibility to your attic & storage location. We offer a wide range of sturdy and comfortable Attic Ladder solutions to support your circumstances. All our installations are surveyed for suitability and completed by a Professional Carpenter, to ensure your safety and the structure of your home are appropriately assessed and delivered.
We can also install your Attic Ladder system in a completely new location or room if required and deemed suitable. This involves creating a new hatch opening.
