About Cork Solar
Solar power for everyone
According to the Department of Agriculture, this a solar PV system size for a dairy farm of approx. 6kWp combined with a 4.5kWh of battery storage capacity.
Grant aid in this initial pilot phase will be to fund a 6kWp solar system.
Costs are based on the cost of installation of a 6kWp (up to 6000 watts per hour) solar system; this includes a battery which is necessary to capture the energy output, thereby making it economically viable.
At this maximum size, the grant provided at the 40% rate would be €6,200, and at 60% it would be €9,300.
Further information
With our head office in Cork and installers nationwide, we can monitor your daily usage before designing a suitable system for your farm or home.
On dairy farms, this may be a system that runs the chiller throughout the day or runs the milking parlour when you need the power.
We can base the cost over a period of time, paying the equivalent of the grant up front and paying monthly over a period.
... So your ESB costs don't change and no lum sum is required for the first few years, while you reep the benefits over the next 10 years.
