About The Woolly Shepherd

Woolly Shepherd – Natural Acoustic Solutions
Award Winning Sustainable Acoustic Absorbers for Noisy Rooms

Woolly Shepherd Ltd are a UK based, acoustic panel manufacturer. We supply sustainable acoustic solutions and panels from natural fibres. Probably best known for our acoustic clouds, with hundreds of installations around the UK. Our unique range enhance your environment, reducing background noise and improving speech intelligibility, thereby creating a less stressful and more productive space.
Before we install any of our acoustic panels, we carry out a detailed acoustic survey which can be an onsite survey or, if this is not possible, a remote survey. This is to ensure the correct amount of acoustic absorption for your specific space. Every school, office, village hall or restaurant has not only different acoustics, but also different needs and uses.
Our acoustic surveys are carried out by our specialist staff, taking great care in their recommendations.

PRODUCTS
Sustainable Acoustic Panels for your Ceiling and Walls

Stone Circles
As the West Country already possess more than its fair share of stone circles, we thought that given the stone like colours of our grey felts, we should probably name this product after their older, better known cousins.

These beautiful, felt finished, Class A absorbers are available in a wide variety of sizes and are suitable for application to both walls and ceilings.

Acoustic Clouds
Our acoustic sound clouds first came to prominence in the spring of 2012, in a mock Dragons Den feature on BBC Countryfile.

These beautiful, highly effective absorbers now adorn ceilings up and down the UK and across mainland Europe.

Our acoustic sound clouds and other ceiling suspended options, absorb sound across their entire surface area, making them exceptionally good value for money.

Each and every sound cloud is made here in our Somerset workshop and individually inspected before being packaged.

Wellington Panel
The Wellington high performance acoustic wall and ceiling panel is a Class A absorber, developed as a result of acoustic testing undertaken in our local town of Wellington, Somerset.

As our clouds absorb across their entire surface area they represent especially good value for money, which meant that our original wall panels could seem a less attractive option, in terms of price.

Having tried alternative combinations of natural fibres and adjusted the densities of some of our materials, we are now happy that our acoustic panels offer fantastic value for money and hope that you will think so too.

Ellipse
Perhaps not so surprisingly we have found that our acoustic clouds tend to provoke a ‘Marmite’ kind of response from potential customers. Many approach us because they simply love and specifically want clouds, whereas others like the notion of natural materials, but are not keen on the idea of adorning their rooms with clouds.

For these customers we offer the option of alternative, more conventional, shapes such as rectangles, circles and ellipses.

Suspended Circles
The circles are without doubt our most popular shape for those not wanting clouds.

The suspended circles are made using the exact same recipe as the clouds and therefore boasts the same Class A performance as our flagship product. However, due to the constraints of the materials used we are unable to offer suspended circles in a larger size.

Acoustic Screens

These screens are constructed using the same combination of natural materials as our orchestra screens (The Haven), developed for and trialed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

This winning combination of materials provides both absorption and transmission loss providing increased speech privacy and reduced reverberation in one.

These high quality screens are made from 1mm, powder coated, steel and can be made to most sizes.

Haven Acoustic Screen
The Haven Acoustic Screen sits behind the head of a musician playing in an orchestra or concert/brass band set up. The acoustic screen reduces decibel exposure from musicians seated immediately behind them and as a result of the absorptive properties of the shield, the musician playing into the shield is not exposed to reflected sound waves.

The Haven is a vitally important addition to any orchestra or concert band, contributing to a wider strategy for mitigating against the hearing damage sometimes suffered by professional musicians.
