About Carraig Construction Consultancy
Carraig Construction Consultancy provides Cost Management, Dispute Resolution, Insurance Intermediary and Construction Law Services to Employers and Contractors in the construction and engineering sector.
We advise on the full spectrum of construction law activities from the initial drafting and negotiation of contracts, mid-stream construction advice through to final resolution of disputes post-construction, which include:
• contract drafting
• contracting alternatives, including lump sum agreements as a supplement to the RIAI Form of Contract
• risk analysis
• bonds and securities
• project insurance
• pricing methods
• project management
• construction dispute management (including mediation, arbitration, conciliation and other ADR’s)
The Cost Management/Quantity Surveying division of Carraig Consultancy offers Clients procuring/building their own home/project, a priced Schedule of Materials and Works detailing the necessary materials and works for the particular build. The Schedule accurately defines the exact material requirements for a build together with the current industry cost for that material - thereby allowing self builders excellent opportunities to achieve value for money through knowing the exact quantity of each material required, lack of material wastage and greater 'economies of scale' bargaining power through the ability to order materials in bulk. As the Schedule details exactly what self builders should expect to pay for each relevant trade, self builders have the upper hand when negotiating with tradesmen and suppliers. The Schedule of Materials and Works gives a full budget of the total construction cost of a specific project which is a significant benefit when dealing with mortgage providers and a substantial aid in procuring the build within budget.
Our Clients are drawn from all sides of the industry including:
• Contractors (Ireland and overseas)
• Private Clients and Developers
• Public Bodies and Local Authorities
• Sub-contractors and Suppliers
• Project Managers
• Architects
• Private Quantity Surveyors
• Consulting Engineers
Our practical and commercial experience, allied to our expertise in construction law, means that we are ideally placed to advise and implement on strategies throughout a project life-cycle. We have particular expertise and have advised Contractors and Employers / Representatives on the Public Works Contracts implemented by the Irish Department of Finance.
For more information on these services and to address your individual requirements please contact us at the details above.
