About RS Greer [Contracts]
About us
RS Greer, is based in Cookstown, Co.Tyrone, and was formed in 1988 as a building sub-contractor, carrying out brickwork and blockwork, for other larger contractors in the Mid Ulster area.
Over the years it has grown from a small firm with only one employee, to a firm which employs over thirty operatives, direct employees and sub-contractors.
RS Greer carries out all types of construction work, from small extensions to houses and industrial units. We will do complete jobs, or any element of a job, what ever suits the client's requirements.
We also specialise in several areas of construction activities.
Concrete Grooving
In 1995, we commenced offering a concrete grooving service to the local farming community. Concrete on farm yards and cattle sheds becomes slippy with constant scraping and cleaning, as a result cattle can slip and injure themselves. We have the answer. A specialist treatment, which improves grip and prevents slips and falls.
What do we do ? We cut a series of grooves in your slippy concrete, first going one way, and then going at 90 degrees across the first set of grooves, to create a grid effect.
Why do we cut both ways ? Grooves that cross a cows path, give about 50% more grip than grooves in line with the cows direction of movement.
Will grooves fill up ? Grooves are 'U' shaped therefore muck will not become compacted in them. Wet muck acts as a lubricant on your smooth concrete, with the concrete grooved the cows foot feels the groove through the muck. If muck is allowed to dry on the grooves then because of their 'U' shape the next time the area becomes wet the grooves will clean out.
Road Nameplates
As part of our work with local authorities, we were being asked to install Road Nameplates, which were made from recycled plastic materials. In 2001 we started to make our own signs, as well as install them. We now supply and install signs for many of Northern Ireland's Local District Councils. We can supply only, or supply and install, the choice is yours.
Materials Used: The support frame is manufactured from recycled plastic, which has been formed in to post and board sections. The sign plate is made from Lexan polycarbonate, which is extremely tough and vandal resistant.
Lettering: Lettering is applied to the reverse side of the Lexan sign plate, the white background is then applied to the back of the lettering. As all lettering is to the reverse of the Lexan, it is protected from the weather and vandalism .
Design: We can manufacture signs in any number of formats and styles, from basic single line signs, to multiple line signs, including logos and directional arrows .
