Specialities & Unique Selling Points
First and foremost we specialise in and ONLY sell Renewable Heating products.
Go Geothermal offers the installer a number of benefits, providing British or European sourced materials from environmentally responsible manufacturers and UNBIASED advice.
We do not see the logic in sourcing cheaper goods from the other side of the world only to add to the pollution and environmental damage overseas, which, by definition, your clients are looking to avoid. To that end, in 2015 over 90% of the products we sold were sourced in the UK - all other products were sourced from Europe.
All our materials are designed and intended for use in this market. Such is our confidence in our products that we offer warranty and support should failures occur under normal Geothermal conditions.
'Sustainable Success'
Utilising the correct materials enables Go Geothermal to offer the peace of mind you should expect from an installer. If there are any quality issues, we have the full support and back up of our manufacturers.

Company expands with new, larger northern base
The UK’s largest supplier of heat pumps has responded to the ever-growing demand for renewable energy solutions by opening a new head office and warehouse in the North-East of England.
Go Geothermal Ltd has been able to further increase its extensive product range following the opening in September 2023 of new premises in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
This has enabled the company, which was established in 2006, to double the size of its previous premises in Newton Aycliffe, and the new warehouse in particular provides it with the ability to increase its stock holding by three and half times – equating to £1.6 million worth of renewable energy products, with space to grow to £5 million.
The premises at Maple Way, Newton Aycliffe, will help Go Geothermal maximize distribution into Scotland as well as the rest of England and Wales, and is complemented by its existing commercial office in the Midlands.
The expansion of the head office forms part of Go Geothermal’s growth strategy and enables it to provide customers with even more availability and choice on products, which include air and ground source heat pumps from the world’s leading manufacturers, such as CTC, Vaillant, Viessmann, Bosch, Waterkotte, Clausius & Stiebel Eltron, as well as biomass, underfloor heating, solar, and many other renewable energy technologies.
Sean Sowden, Director of Go Geothermal, said: “With interest and demand in renewable energy products growing very quickly, largely due to Government net zero targets, it was important for us to expand our office/warehouse, so we are placed to meet this increased demand.
“We are therefore delighted to have been able to find premises which meet our needs and to have been able to retain our presence in the North-East.
“Our entire offering has evolved from working closely with our customers and we actively manage our product ranges. We continually look for innovative and market leading products which is the cornerstone of our business, and the new office/warehouse will enable us to increase this even further.”
In addition to the warehouse and offices for staff, the new premises will also house one of Go Geothermal’s national heat pump training centres, which provide installers with hands-on training and experience in the installation of its CTC brand of heat pumps. On completion, installers are awarded a nationally accredited qualification in the installation and maintenance of heat pumps.
Situated on the Aycliffe Business Park, the Maple Way commercial development is owned by Northern Trust Ltd.
Steven Porter, Regional Portfolio Manager at Northern Trust added “I am delighted we were able to help Go Geothermal with their occupational requirements and am pleased to welcome them to Maple Way. With the Government’s Net Zero Strategy targets, and the increasing importance of renewable forms of energy I am excited to see Go Geothermal continue to grow to facilitate the increase in demand.”

Company opens new heat pump installer training centre
The UK’s largest supplier of heat pumps has opened its first national training centre to meet the rising demand from businesses and householders moving to renewable energy technology.
Karbon Homes is just one of the organisations which will take advantage of Go Geothermal’s new training centre in Cold Hesledon, Seaham.
The housing association, like many other businesses, is now seeking to install renewable energy technology in its new and existing properties as part of the Government's move to make the UK carbon neutral by 2050.
This includes air source heat pumps and Go Geothermal’s training centre will enable heating engineers to learn how to install the pumps.
The training centre - the first of several planned in the UK - will feature heat pumps supplied by Go Geothermal through its CTC brand.
Engineers will get hands-on training and experience in the installation of the CTC heat pumps and at the end they will receive the nationally recognised BPEC Level 3 Award Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pumps qualification.
The courses will be delivered in partnership with Robinsons UK, a national technical training academy.
Tim Williams, Executive Director Go Geothermal, said: “We are delighted to have opened our first heat pump installation training centre in the North-East.
“As a business with its head office in the region, we couldn’t have picked a better location for the first centre, which will provide businesses and organisations with access to technical competence courses using the latest, state-of-the-art CTC air source heat pumps.”
Further training centres in Exeter, Worcester, Blackpool, and Glasgow are also scheduled to open in 2023.
Tim added: “This will provide us with full national coverage, enabling installers across the UK to undertake fully accredited heat pump installation courses.
“Renewable energy technology like heat pumps will play a key role as the UK moves to carbon neutral status by 2050, so we’re proud to be making our own contribution towards this goal.”
Businesses/organisations/individuals wishing to book onto the course at the Seaham centre can visit https://www.ctc-uk.com/installer-training/ or anyone requiring more information on the course or the other planned training centres can email sales@gogeothermal.co.uk

New WPE-I Range from Stiebel Eltron
Introducing our new range of inverter-driven ground source heat pumps for the non-domestic market.
This new range has been designed to maximise return on investment from the Non-Domestic RHI, increase overall efficiencies and reduce installation costs and complexity.
Inverter technology means heat output can be adjusted exactly to suit the required capacity of the building. The benefits are:
Groundworks can be sized exactly to the building – rather than the nearest heat pump model - , minimizing groundwork costs
More – or indeed all – of your running hours can now attract the higher (tier 1) RHI tariffs
Fewer instances where two heat pumps are required to get close to your actual heat requirement making for cheaper and easier- to-install projects

Not All MVHR is the Same
Go Geothermal are always looking at ways to make our housing stock more energy efficient, reduce the need for fossil fuels and improve air quality.
Alongside our supply partner Stiebel Eltron we now offer Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery Systems (MVHR).
With a considerable push for the UK to improve on housebuilding efficiencies new developments are under increasing scrutiny to achieve high ratings in the EU’s ErP energy standards. Integrating ventilation units with heat recovery and heat pump systems could provide a viable route to achieving targets without sacrificing on space or usability.

Magnetic System Filters
Not all Magnetic System Filters are the same; these are available from our stock with a 20 year guarantee.
Many untreated or improperly treated heating systems suffer from an accumulation of debris, collectively referred to as sludge deposits. Made up of corrosion products, water hardness flakes and installation or maintenance debris, this sludge can cause premature equipment failure or block/restrict system flow – directly reducing system life, efficiency and effectiveness.
The SpiroTrap MB3 is an extremely effective and powerful dirt separator for removing both magnetic and non-magnetic dirt particles from central heating systems.
• Detachable powerful magnet
• Rotating connector to enabling the unit to be installed on horizontal, vertical and even diagonal pipes
• 20 Year Guarantee
• Servicing takes just 30 seconds (emptying of deposits). The removal of parts is NOT required.

Making your energy go further
Introducing the very best in renewable heating products!
The Go Geothermal team enjoyed a busy three days exhibiting at the recent EcoBuild exhibition in London.
Customer engagement is key to Go Geothermal’s ongoing success, so it’s always good to be able to meet people face-to-face,discuss ideas and innovations, and build new contacts within the industry.
This year’s EcoBuild was particularly exciting as we were showcasing a raft of the latest innovations in heat pump and heat transfer technology.
One of our most recent partnerships is with solar manufacturer Systovi and we now stock their R-VOLT PLUS solar aerovoltaic system; the most powerful solar panels in the world.
A standard panel only uses 20% of the solar energy available to it. It abandons 60% of it, which is released as heat, and the remaining 20% is lost through reflection. Thanks to its innovative air recovery, the R-VOLT PLUS uses the 60% of energy which is normally lost and has an unrivalled output of 900W.
It is compatible with 100% of homes, is eligible for the Feed-in-Tariff and comes with 20-year guarantee.
At EcoBuild we exhibited the new generation of IVT air source heat pumps – which set new standards in terms of efficiency levels. We also stock IVT ground source heat pumps, which are currently the
best-selling GSHP in the UK. In addition to this we have partnered with Danish company Isoplus – market leaders in the manufacturing of pre-insulated pipes. As an authorised distributor we have access to a wide range of their quality products, providing the ideal solution for transporting hot water with minimal heat loss.
One of the questions we were asked most at EcoBuild was around our ability to deliver products at speed – we keep a large amount of stock at our Durham HQ and are proud to be able to offer next day delivery on most items (weather permitting of course).
If you want to know more about how Go Geothermal can help your business or building project, feel free to drop us a line – we’d love to chat!

Swedish Leader Joins the Ranks!
Some 12 Years ago when we started our Journey into Heat Pumps the landscape looked very different in terms of the leading brands available both for ground and air source. Since then our business model has been copied literally and subtlety and as such new brands have entered the market to a point now where it bears no relation to the past.
One thing however has remained constant in the back ground is the growth of IVT Ground Source heat pumps, so much so they have sold more Ground Source Heat Pumps than any other brand in the UK. Of course the journey was not simple for IVT in the UK the link with ICE Energy has undoubtedly caused some mud to stick.
So it was with some degree of caution we approached the opportunity to distribute the brand having turned down many others in the past that had no negative press. When we started “not to judge the book by its cover” we were pleasantly surprised. Backed by the Bosch family of Companies and with a pedigree of over 300,000 units sold in Europe you start to see how image can mislead.
With a 15 year insurance backed guarantee combined with Swedish build quality and experience IVT starts to stand out as a great option.
Our opinion was further reinforced when we looked at the product features. As a packaged system with built in circulation pumps, the IVT ground source heat pump range makes for a very simple installation. Furthermore, the choice of ‘combi’ and ‘system' units, a full range of complementary buffer tanks, as well in-built control features such as cascade and boiler backup, all make for a very flexible and attractive system.
Like most things which are successful there’s often much more to their story than just the hype - IVT is no different;
IVT Ground Source heat pumps are available in sizes from 6kw to 80kw (and can be cascaded up to a maximum of 480kw).
Call now to see how we can help with your next project.

Stiebel Eltron UK is introducing a new version of its best-selling WPL air source heat pump
The WPL Classic has been designed as a cost-effective and space-saving solution for housebuilders and developers that is highly integrated and easier than ever to install.
The original WPL was launched in 2013 and was hailed at the time as the most efficient air source product ever designed, with the highest COP available on the global market.
Stiebel Eltron worked with its customer base to create this new model, enhancing this award-winning product in line with direct user feedback.
The new Classic version still features key elements such as active cooling, electronic expansion valve, quiet running and modern design, and meets the requirements of most modern family homes by using pioneering inverter compressor technology to provide heating and hot water.
Mark McManus, Stiebel Eltron UK managing director, said: “The WPL remains one of our strongest products in terms of performance and sales, and by introducing the Classic we are offering a highly efficient product at an affordable price point."
“The WPL Classic is a simple plug-and-play unit, cutting down on installation time and costs, and is also a single-phase heat pump, meeting UK specifications.
“It is a perfect solution for housebuilders who are looking to buy in volume for small to medium-sized developments where space often comes at a premium. As an energy efficient solution that will minimise running costs and require little maintenance, the WPL Classic is excellent value.
“The unit has also been designed to work with our new space-saving HSBC integrated DHW and buffer cylinder, with the whole system enabled to connect to the internet, allowing for remote monitoring and control.
“Property owners will also get peace of mind with Stiebel Eltron’s 7-year extended warranty for heat pumps.”
Like its predecessor, the WPL Classic runs on a unique principle to other appliances currently available, using a bespoke inverter compressor that is tuned for maximum efficiency for UK climatic conditions. All component parts within the machine have been optimised to suit the UK demands. These unique design features enable Stiebel Eltron to present the highest possible Seasonal Performance on the market.
Stiebel Eltron is hosting a series of installer partner workshops across the UK to showcase the WPL Classic’s efficiency and innovation. If you’d like to attend please call Go Geothermal Ltd on 01388 720228.

New Aerovoltaic Solar Panels
Space heating and electricity generation in one easy installation
When a photovoltaic panel produces electricity, it actually only uses 20% of the solar energy available to it. It abandons 60% of it, which is heat and the remaining 20% is lost through reflection. But thanks to its innovative air recovery, the R-VOLT PLUS aerovoltaic system uses the 60% of energy which is normally lost! This makes it the most powerful solar panel in the world, with unrivalled output of 900 W (250 Wp + 650 Wth)!
On the front, the panels convert the sun's rays into electricity in the same way conventional photovoltaic panels do. On the back the air is captured and heated between the panel and a well-insulated backing sheet before being aspirated, filtered and circulated around the home. This process can save home owners up to 50% on their heating bill on top of the benefits normally associated with solar panels (FIT, export and electricity savings).
Advantages :
• Easy to install: Full kits supplied incl ducting, flashing, vents, etc…
• Easy to sell: Web or application based simulator for simple estimates
• Available in-roof (BIPV) or on roof
• Generates electricity, heating and 95% filtrated air
• Summer night time cooling
• 20 Year Panel product Guarantee
• Modules and mounting kit MCS accredited
STORE-H
The STORE-H solar heat battery works in perfect synergy with AIR-VOLT PLUS solar panels. At the same time hot air is being blown into the home, part of the heat is channelled into storage, while the temperature is kept comfortably warm. STORE-H is a hot air battery consisting of several plates encapsulating revolutionary Phase Change Material (PCM) which state alters according to the temperature. When it gets hot, the crystals contained in the aluminium plates melt and absorb the solar thermal energy and in turn charge the battery. When the temperature cools, this same substance solidifies and progressively releases the stored heat.
Advantages :
• Up to 5hrs heating after the panels ‘switch off’
• Eco friendly materials, no harmful & dangerous chemicals
• Patented battery, 15 year guarantee, 30 year life expectancy
• Can easily be retrofitted to existing AIR-VOLT PLUS systems
Check the charge status & control remotely with SMART-AIR monitoring
To celebrate the launch of the AIR-VOLT PLUS system Systovi are giving away a Makita DAB site radio with your first kit order.
*Offer valid until 30/04/17 for first full kit order, radio model may vary.

Another Space Saving Solution from Stiebel Eltron!
HSBC 200 S GB launched in the UK
We are delighted to announce the launch of the new Stiebel Eltron space saving integrated cylinder and buffer unit for use with heat pumps. The new HSBC combines a buffer tank for space heating and a domestic hot water cylinder. Electrolytic Scale Inhibitors
Go Geothermal Ltd
October 2016 Newsletter
65% of the UK population is provided with hard water, which contains high levels of calcium and magnesium salts. This limescale builds up inside household appliances, causing them to run less effectively and increasing the likelihood of premature breakdown. By protecting against the build-up of limescale, it could also save up to £130 a year on typical energy bills, as scale also impairs the efficiency of heat transfer.
Stocked by Go Geothermal the SESI is an electrolytic scale inhibitor, a cost-effective solution to help tackle limescale build up. It provides a long term solution which requires no maintenance and protects the whole house without introducing any undesirable chemicals to the drinking water.
Key features
• Protects against limescale encrustation
• WRAS approved
• 5 year guarantee
• Available in 22mm from Stock
• Recommended by the Compliance Guide to Part L1 of the Building Regulations
• Takes just a few minutes to install
The unit should be installed in the rising main of the municipal water supply, but after the water meter and primary filter units (if fitted), so that the whole property is protected. If the device is fitted to protect only a single appliance (i.e. the DHW), there should be at least 3 metres of water pipe between the SESI unit and the appliance.
The unit must be installed in accordance with WRAS installation requirements.
As used by one of our directors
"We couldn't install the SESI onto the main water feed into my house, so we had one put on the flow into the DHW. The reduction in scale deposits in the shower was absolutely incredible. Why wouldn't you install one?" - Sean Sowden
Further Efficiency Measures
For more efficiency increasing measures concerning your customer's heating system, please see below:
Magnetic System Filters
Servicing takes just 30 seconds (emptying of deposits). The removal of parts is NOT required.
Air Eliminators
Air – in other words Oxygen – once present in a heating system, can cause blocks in radiators and pipe work due to the forming of large air pockets. The presence of oxygen can also cause corrosion of system components
The SpiroVent RV2 automatically deaerates the system water and vents air

We at Go Geothermal Ltd believe so much in the Jaga DBE Range of radiators that one of our directors has installed them in his own property...!
Minstrels Barn in Caldwell, North Yorkshire, is a traditional barn that underwent a major refurbishment to convert it into to a comfortable living environment. Far from a simple project, the homeowners were very keen to install renewable technologies that would make the building sustainable for many years to come.
Sean Sowden, property owner and Co-Founder of Go Geothermal Ltd. – specialists in renewable heating technologies such as heat pumps – outlined how this ambition translated to the heating of the property: “Minstrel’s Barn was previously fueled by oil, which is extremely expensive and inefficient in large indoor spaces such as the barn,” he said. “We decided to install a ground source heat pump, supported by the use of solar thermal energy (to heat Domestic Hot Water and to pre heat the Glycol up to 20oC), and set ourselves the target of achieving the most efficient domestic closed loop ground source heat pump in the UK – with a coefficient of performance (COP) ratio of at least 6.5, which has been archived by enhancing the brine temperature from solar integration.”
“Given the heritage of the building, we had to ensure that we retained its character. As such, we needed a heating solution that could work effectively with a heat pump whilst accommodating the building’s defining features. For example, keeping the original oak floor in some rooms, as well as decorative floor tiling in others, meant that underfloor heating wasn’t an option. Low flow, energy efficient radiators became the ideal choice.”
In order to meet these objectives whilst ensuring the property was sufficiently warm, Mr Sowden specified 18 Low-H2O Jaga Strada DBE radiators to be installed throughout the home.
“We have sold Jaga radiators for a number of years now, so I am fully aware of what they are capable of, particularly with regards to their effectiveness with low flow systems such as a heat pump.” he explained.
Whereas the temperature of the water being circulated around the house had previously averaged at 65°C, with the introduction of the ground source heat pump the water generally circulates at between 30°C to 38°C, though can reach as high as 49°C if required. For most radiators, achieving adequate levels of comfort from such temperatures would be a real challenge, particularly given the large spaces within the property that needed to be heated.
However, the Strada DBE is designed to be entirely compatible with low flow temperatures and provide exceptional standards of comfort. The Dynamic Boost Effect (DBE) technology works through the use of small, quiet fans attached to the heat exchangers that draw air over the element to boost the Low-H2O radiator’s output by three times. As a result, the output, efficiency and responsiveness of the radiators are impro

Price Reductions!
October 2016 will be a significant milestone for Go Geothermal as it marks our 10 year anniversary of trading.
We have seen many changes in this time and whilst the business was never established based on the ground and air source technologies receiving government subsidies it’s heartening to see that the RHI tariff has remained largely un-effected by all the recent tariff reductions.
A clear sign that these renewable technologies have a real future!
Our business has grown significantly over the past 10 years which enables us to negotiate improved terms with our suppliers whilst continually looking to offer new innovative and technically enhanced products.
Encouraged by customer feedback when we passed on price reductions enjoyed by Go Geothermal back in 2013, we are keen to take this opportunity once more by reviewing our pipe, chamber manifold & fluid prices.
