Harding Fireplaces and Stoneyard

Harding Fireplaces is a third-generation business dedicated to the making of top-quality fireplaces and marble products from the world's finest natural materials.

Maintaining full manufacturing facilities, all Harding Fireplaces are 100% Irish made in our workshops in Gowran, Co. Kilkenny, which allows us total flexibility to adjust all our designs to your requirements or make fireplaces to any design required. The Harding family is also involved and interested in the development and use of the largely forgotten Irish marbles, running the Kilkenny Black Marble quarry at Butlers Grove. We try where possible to use and locate the other Irish Marbles, of which there are sixteen known.

Marble Fireplaces
Would you like to design your own fireplace? You can choose to have your fireplace made in White Marble, Cream Marble, Black Marble, and other colours are also available. The marbles that we use come from Italy and Macedonia, and you can drop into our workshop and even choose the slab of marble you would like. You can also decide what design you would like. Harding's are in the fireplace business for over 40 years, and Jim can offer you advice on what fireplace would suit the size of your room.

Stoneyard
The Harding family own and run the only remaining Kilkenny Black Marble Quarry in Ireland, which is the only existing source of this black marble available in the country. This Quarry is called Butlers Grove Stone, and limestone from this quarry is not only used in our Stoneyard to manufacture fireplace surrounds and stove surround, but we manufacture a large range of garden furniture and patio furniture, and provide building stone.

Repair, Restoration & Custom Designs
Harding Fireplaces are highly regarded for their excellence in restoration of period fireplaces. We provide a fireplace repair and a fireplace restoration service, and stone conservation work is a focus of our business. We have extensive experience in the repair and restoration of old, antique fireplaces and chimney pieces. We can advise on any period fireplace, and can arrange for your old fireplace to be removed to our workshop at Gowran, and for re-installation after restoration.

Fireplace Design
Harding Fireplaces produce a very high-quality, top-end fireplace, which can be manufactured to suit the client's exact specification and design. We can manufacture any stone fireplace or stone stove surround, or make a bespoke fireplace or bespoke stove surround for any situation, traditional fireplace, modern fireplace or a contemporary fireplace. Your fireplace surround or stove surround can be tailor made to suit the size of your room, and can be done so in a material and colour of your choice. Harding Fireplaces provide have a broad range of prices to suit any pocket.

We can supply a wide variety of hearths from a granite hearth, limestone hearth, marble hearth or a slate hearth in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes to suit the individual’s needs.
