Tony Kirwan Plant Hire (TKPH) was established in 1960 has over time developed expertise in the fields of ground works, quarrying, demolition and civil engineering.

We have a range of plant available for hire including:

• Excavators from 2.5tn to 65tn (with both bucket and rock breaker)
• Bulldozers from Komatsu D65 to CAT D9
• 25tn to 40tn articulated dump trucks
• Tipper lorries
• Rock crushing and screening plant rollers
• Compactors and lo-loaders

TKPH works for Ireland's leading quarrying firms both on hire and under contract carrying out rock breaking, quarry stripping, rock crushing and screening operations.

TKPH has carried out work both on hire and under sub-contract on some of the largest civil engineering projects carried out in Ireland in recent times including the Tralee By-pass and the Waterford Bypass, working on large scale earthmoving operations, rock breaking, drainage and placement of fill materials.

TKPH has carried out ground works sub-contracts on some of the largest building projects completed in the South East of Ireland including the Genzyme Pharmaceutical factory, Ferrybank District Shopping Centre and the Railway Square development in Waterford.


Works carried out under these sub-contracts included, foundation excavation, preparation of pile caps, drainage, road and footpath construction, installation of water mains and ducting and diversion of existing services.

TPKH has substantial experience in demolition works, demolishing both free standing structures and structures in urban areas including temporary propping of adjacent structures.

TKPH has also carried out both large and small scale civil engineering works for local authorities and private sector clients, works in this area include:
