The campaign group opposed to a controversial M3 route through the Hill of Tara is continuing to gather momentum.
The Tarawatch group plans to halt the proposed works, which will be built around the historic site.
Campaigners previously lost a high profile court action to reroute the motorway, but the group is now said to be seeking further legal advice on the matter.
Plans to challenge the ruling are based on a report on the archaeological heritage of the area. The group now hopes to make a bid to overturn the High Court ruling, which supported the road.
The Tarawatch Action Group is calling for a full Dail investigation into the matter, and has demanded work on the route stops immediately.
The High Court's judgement stated that none of the 38 areas examined were national monuments. However, Tarawatch has insisted that the entire Hill of Tara site should be declared a World Heritage Site collectively.
The Hill of Tara, of the Hill of the King, is famed for its association with the high Kings of Ireland. The Hill, in County Meath, is also situated close to the River Boyne.
